During their time at Carterhatch Infant School, children learn about world views and are encouraged to explore their own beliefs, in light of what they learn, and reflect on their own ideas. We consider the right balance of world views for our children, so that they explore more in depth and engage even more in RE. Children are encouraged to use these lessons to inform their own values, morals and develop their awareness of themselves and others. We aim to promote an ethos of respect, celebrate diversity and build an understanding of other cultures and beliefs.
At Carterhatch Infants we plan the religious education curriculum in accordance with the London Borough of Enfield’s new agreed syllabus for 2023-2028. They will explore key questions based around the 3 strands of:
Believing – Religious beliefs, teachings, sources; questions of meaning, purpose and truth.
Expressing – Religious forms of expression; questions of identity, diversity and belonging.
Living – Practises and ways of living; questions and values and commitments
We offer all our children opportunities to experience different places of worship through local visits and visitors as part of their learning.
